Coverage That Rounds Out Your Plan
Medicare covers a lot. It doesn't cover everything. We help you sort through what else might matter for your situation, on your timing, with no pressure to add anything you don't need.

Through our Partners and Friends at Senior Health Services

Some seniors find that Medicare covers what they need and nothing else is required. Others discover gaps: final expenses they want to plan for, long-term care needs Medicare won't cover, steady income they want to count on, or out-of-pocket costs for dental, vision, and hearing care.
We work in three categories alongside Medicare:
- Life Insurance and Long-Term Care for what you want to leave in order and how you plan for care needs that fall outside Medicare
- Annuities for predictable income on a schedule you choose
- Supplemental Health Coverage for indemnity policies that pay cash benefits when specific things happen
The options below walk you through which category fits what you are trying to protect. None of these are urgent. None of these are required. They are options to know about when the time is right.
What Are You Trying To Protect?
Most people come to us with one of three concerns. Open whichever sounds like yours, and we will walk you through what is available.
I want to leave things in order for my family
This is Life Insurance and Long-Term Care territory. Most policies that work well for adults over 65 focus on final expenses, leaving something behind for loved ones, or covering long-term care needs that Medicare does not.
Common options include:
- Final expense whole life (small face amount, designed for funeral and burial costs)
- Hybrid life policies with long-term care benefits built in
- Term life, in select situations for those still working past 65

I want steady income I can count on for Life
This is Annuities territory. Annuities are designed to pay you a benefit on a schedule you choose, not based on an event happening. They can convert a lump sum into predictable income for a set number of years or for life.
We focus on:
- Fixed annuities (steady, predictable returns)
- Indexed annuities (returns tied to a market index with downside protection)
These are the products that fit retired and near-retired adults well. Annuities work best alongside other retirement income, not as a replacement for it.
want coverage for things Medicare doesn't cover well
This is Supplemental Health Coverage territory. These are indemnity policies, meaning they pay a fixed cash benefit when something specific happens, and they work alongside your Medicare coverage rather than replacing it.
Common options include:
- Dental, Vision, and Hearing plans
- Hospital Indemnity (cash benefit for hospital stays)
- Cancer and Critical Illness coverage

Like Medicare, the right fit for any of these depends on your situation, your budget, and what matters most to you. We do not bundle. We do not push. If one of these categories sounds like a fit, the next step is a separate conversation about that specific need, on your timing.
Common Questions
Do I need any of this if I already have Medicare?
Not necessarily. Medicare covers a lot. Whether you need additional coverage depends on your savings, your family situation, what gaps you want to fill, and what risks you want to plan for. We help you think it through, not push you into anything.
When is the right time to look at these?
It varies. Some products, especially in the Life Insurance and Long-Term Care category, are easier to qualify for at younger ages and in better health. If something interests you, it is worth understanding earlier rather than later. But none of these have an enrollment deadline like Medicare does. You can pursue them on your own timing and we are ready to be your guide.
Can I bundle these with my Medicare plan?
No. These are separate policies with separate carriers, separate premiums, and separate paperwork. Bundling sounds simpler but usually limits your choices. Keeping them separate means you get to choose the best fit in each category without compromise.
What about coverage through a former employer or AARP?
Many seniors have access to coverage through former employers, current employers, AARP, or other group affiliations. We can help you compare those options against what is available on the open market. Sometimes the group option is excellent. Sometimes individual coverage is a better fit. The comparison is worth doing.
How are you compensated for these?
Insurance carriers pay us a commission when a policy is issued, and that commission is generally similar across carriers within a category. There is no additional charge for our time. We are reasonably transparent about how we are paid so you can trust that what we recommend is based on fit, not on a commission difference.

Ready To Talk About What Else Might Matter?
A conversation about Life Coverage Options can start during a Discovery Session, where we listen, ask questions, and learn what matters to you. If something we discuss warrants a closer look, we set up a separate follow-up for that specific category. No pressure. No bundling. No surprises.
